Denden Restaurant was started in 2002 by Mike and Elen Mezengi as an answer to the need for an Eritrean restaurant in the Chicagoland area.     The main traditional food in Eritrean cuisine is (tsebhistew), served with (flatbread), and hilbet (paste). Denden’s signature dishes are its Zighni Begi’e and Zighni Derho both served with red hot pepper sauce and delectable for any taste pallet.

Future plans for Denden include expanding the Eritrean Cuisine to Washington DC by opening their second restaurant.
